SPICED RUM PUNCH

I don't know about you guys, but my Thanksgiving was super busy! We head out of town to my parents for about 5 days and the festivities started the second we arrived. My brother came down from college so the house was full! Every day was full of parties, dinner, food, and more food. It was so much fun, especially since Arlo is now at an age where he can enjoy being around family. He plays and wrestles with his cousins now and its so fun to see him running around giggling, especially during the holidays. This year my parents hosted Thanksgiving dinner at their house for my mom's side of the family. Because we were staying with them, and I hosted a Cousins Christmas Movie Pajama Party Extravaganza the night before (we had our big Thanksgiving dinner on Saturday so my Christmas party was the night after Thanksgiving-but more on that later), I of course had to help as much as possible. She also asked that I bring some sort of "adult beverage/punch" and it was only fitting that I bring my Spiced Rum Punch I make every year. It's so simple to make and every year everyone loves it (maybe a little too much, ya feel?) All jokes aside it has definitely become a staple not only at Thanksgiving, but whenever its chilly outside. Speaking of being chilly outside, did I mention you can also make this same recipe hot? So good! Just make sure you wait to add the rum after the rest of the ingredients are heated so the alcohol doesn't cook off (echem, Lane).
SPICED RUM PUNCH
- 4 CUPS CRANBERRY JUICE
- 4 CUPS SPICED APPLE CIDER
- 2 CUPS SPICED RUM
- CRANBERRIES
- 1 ORANGE SLICED
- 1 GRAPEFRUIT SLICED
Add sliced oranges, sliced grapefruit, and cranberries to a pitcher or decanter. (Optional: reserve some orange slices for garnish.) Add cranberry juice, spiced cider, and spiced rum. Mix. Sip.
